Often, it seems that the only way to rid the body of that “extra inch” around the belly button is to lose “another 10 pounds” – something that may be undesirable for health or cosmetic reasons. Injection of Phosphatidylcholine Deoxycholate (PCDC) directly into fatty deposits in difficult areas such as around the abdomen, inner thighs, hips and under the chin emulsifies (eliminates) these fat cells. Developed originally to clear coronary arteries of plaque, with advances in catheterization techniques, PCDC is no longer used for coronary arteries, but has been used for many years since as a relatively less invasive procedure than liposuction to diffuse into injected areas and kill fat cells. Because a chemical as opposed to physical method of removal is used, a homogeneous removal of unwanted fat occurs as the PCDC diffuses into the treated area resulting in evenly distributed elimination of fat. Multiple treatments may be used as frequently as every three weeks in the same area and results are usually apparent within 4-7 days.
